Making the “Young Gay Republicans” video

I’ve just published my newest political video on the Liberal Bias Youtube channel, and I think it is the best one yet!

You can view the video right here, but if you want to do me a huge favor, I’d love it if you would actually go to the video on Youtube and show your support. Click on the thumbs-up “like” button on Youtube, and subscribe to the channel. You know how things work in the social media world… every “like” helps! The link to the video is here:

I’d like to take credit for this video being the best one that I’ve made so far. And maybe I had something to do with it. For example, I’ve been improving the technical side of things, and recently bought a high quality microphone which has improved the sound quality dramatically.  Also, through experience I’ve simply gotten a little better at writing scripts for Youtube: the pace is better, with less “drag” time, and it gets to the point without a lot of repetition.

But if I’m going to be totally honest, the reason this video has been a success hasn’t really been me: it’s my actor, Gary (working under the name “Lynn”) Sellers. He’s cute, he was easy to work with, but most importantly he’s a total and complete ham.

And when making Youtube comedy videos, it turns out that’s the magic ingredient.  Facial expressions, intonation and gestures that seem “too much” face-to-face turn out being exactly the right level for a video: a tip I’ll have to remember for the future.

So please watch the video and enjoy.  I have so much left-over footage from bloopers and test readings that I’m going to have to do something with it all eventually… plus, I’m hoping to use Gay for more things in the future.

The next video, however, is going to be an even bigger collaboration with a larger number of people. So keep an eye out for it!

You CAN be a young gay Republican!
